Series 1 is the Original ring design characterized by being hand made from new and recycled gold.  Series 1 rings are hand made using traditional jewelry making skills and solder is also used to "build the ring" versus the series 2-5 that use Lost wax casting and are cast in solid pieces.   Sizing here.
